While everyone is ooohing and aaahing over the Kandinsky in New York (haven't we seen enough this decade), Sargent in DC (haven't we seen enough this decade), Arshile Gorky in Philadelphia (actually we haven't), the BMA has mounted a spectacular show called Matisse as Printmaker, consisting of about 200 prints many of which were donated by the Pierre and Tana Matisse Foundation, complimenting the Matisses in the Cone Collection.
It's awesome, albeit a bit repetitive at the end, and I only wish there had been more cross-referencing of the B&W prints to his full-colored paintings, some of which are/were hanging only a few meters away in said Collection.
3 Wows. Go before it ends January 3rd, 2010.
