I've not been back to Le Bis de Severo in quite a while although I often quote it as a great place for beef; thus when my friend suggested it for a Saturday lunch, I was ready. We took one look at the menu which hasn't changed a spot since my last visit and quickly agreed.
The poached cepes sprayed or made with truffle oil with a flan of foie gras were an obvious choice and even splitting the dish provided an ample and satisfying start.
Then we had the cote de boeuf for two; he likes his rare, and me blue, but somehow it came out perfectly for us both and he got the bone to chew on (something he always begrudged Bobosse for spiriting off to the kitchen).
Frites, which defeat most chefs here and in America, were quite good. That's all we had - all?, that's a lot.
Our bill, with no bottled water, a bottle of wine, two coffees and two Calvas, came to 134 E for the two of us.
Go? as he said "One doesn't need to always eat at inventive places." Sometimes the old favorites work just dandy.
