Dear John,

Thanks, as ever, for these marvelous reports. I wonder: might you have an interest in dining with a young American academic (I live in the Bay Area and spend most of my time studying/performing Renaissance music and eating) on Saturday 1 June? I'll be in Paris for the day, having spent a short week at a conference in Tours, and my lunch/dinner date just canceled on me. (My plan had been Astrance or Jean-Louis Nomicos, plus some meal at a place that can do perdreau or pigeon rôti.) Anyhow, if this sounds remotely appealing, you can reach me at jrodin@stanford.edu. Thanks!

Jesse
