3B by Jean Chauvel in Boulogne-Billancourt is a brasserie at lunch and fine dining room at night but my former co-host at the food website that cannot be named, declared after eating at both as well as having been to Les Magnolias in Les Perreux-sur-Marne that the quality was the same. Well, I'm getting the cart before the horse.....
For firsts, 4 of us ordered 3 items which sounded all the world like solid dishes: that is, octopus, vegetables and an egg with sautéed mushrooms (ok I'm fudging on the veggies); but all were really soups of diced veggies and sliced octopus, true gazpacho and a pea green soup with mushies and a perfect egg.
Mains we ordered were chicken, bar and risotto with girolles in a crustacean sauce.
Just as the last time I was here, they brought out a pre-dessert of cotton candy followed by a nice crème brulee and moelleux of chocolate.
With a bottle of San Pellegrino, 2 bottles of Bordeaux, rather pathetic bread for a restaurant of this class and 4 coffees, our bill was 188 E or 94 E a couple.
