La Bourse et La Vie in the 2nd is running smoothly as a well-oiled engine even though the Boss and her husband are only dropping by every few weeks. We went today with a cherished French friend and were impressed that despite a switch from the giant brioche we were used to, totheir own pickles and bread & butter, they were just fine.
None of us really wanted a starter so my friend and I plunged right into their signature pot-au-feu with the tete de veau and osso bucco and scrumptious bouillon of veal and vegetables, including big and tiny carrots. Colette, on the other hand had confited lamb & onion mix covered with a layer of sliced crispy and tasty potatoes.
To end, we had a thyme sorbet sprinkled with fresh thyme and tiny chocolate bits, both terrific.
Our bill, with their filtered water, a bottle and glass of wine and three coffees was 176 E or 117.33 E a couple.
