Les Saisons in the 9th has served us seasonal food for many seasons and today was no exception. Chef Lutz came over to present today's special while Colette was scrounging up dinner nearby and was so enthusiastic about all of them, pictured above, that we had a hard time deciding. But we did.
Knowing the chef's wish to not allow anyone to leave hungry, we were careful in ordering but still had enough to take home for dinner. I ordered up some herring in a cream sauce (not your Russ and Daughters stull at all) with radishes, potatoes, greens and hard eggs (Colette liked it too); then Colette had the veal with white asparagus and mashed potatoes; I had the pig's cheeks cooked in red wine with spätzle; and to finish, Colette had rice pudding with caramel sauce, which I swear she scooped out every last drop. My oh my.
Our bill, with a bottle and glass of wine and 2 coffees, plus a generous -20% for reserving via La Fourchette, was 87.90 E for us.
