4.0 Le Lexique in Geneva was a resto I found on the blogosphere that I forced my Genevois friend to go to, since the places he has taken me to over the past 20 years have tended to wear on my soul. What a mistake.
It was a terrific setting, new looking, young chef, nice waitperson, nice amuse bouches, etc. But then?
After the amuse bouches, my salade verte was probably the hit of the meal; great greens, nice dressing, fine cheese. But one doesn't go to a pricey place for greens.
It being already game season in Switzerland, I leapt for the civet of deer with wine sauce, berries, jelly, noodles etc.; in a few words - dry, not impressive, so what? He had what were called "bonbons" of sole, sort of fried big fish 'n' gambas nems with a "chop suey [sic]" of veggies - alright but no world record.
With 2 dls of wine, 2 coffees, a bottle of water (9 SF, yikes), and a grappa, our bill was 105 SF.
Go? I think not yet.
