On our way to Jeanne A. we passed a troop re-enacting either "the" revolution(s) or the Commune a century later; this being Montmartre a more likely possibility.
Jeanne A. in the 11th is a wonderful place for a Sunday lunch and has become a favorite of ours since opening next door to Astier.
We were uncertain how many we'd be, since friends were coming in from South-East Asia and might have been able to join us - so we started off with a carafe of wine and some sliced sausage (very good products). Then Colette had the scallops (adequate product) with leeks cooked in an agrume sauce (unusual) and I had the echine of porc (standard) with potatoes dauphinois (great even for my potato-deficient palate) and beet greens. We ended splitting a "brownie" (extraordinary) with a banana "smoothie"(OK).
Our bill with 2 Illys and no bottled water was 73 E.
Go? For the ideal Sunday lunch, indeed. The first time I reserved here I asked if in addition to brunch Sunday, they served a regular lunch and I'm happy to say that they now have the very nice habit of asking if you're having lunch or brunch. At this meal no one I could see was having anything but the regular lunch.
