Tuesday, Louis Daboussy of Le Fooding reviewed the deceptive-appearing Candelaria, 52, rue de Saintonge in the 3rd, 01 42 74 41 28. I say deceptive looking because a sign in the window says « tacos » and indeed there is a taqueria (costing 15 €) in front open nonstop from noon to 11 PM but there is also a « secret » bar in back where the bar-men make fancy cocktails 6 PM to 2 AM costing 11-48 €.

Two places merited two hearts; a Japanese wine bar l’Arc Bento, 29 Argenteuil in the 1st and an Anglo (NYC-London) place in the 18th Marcel. He awarded one heart to a beer bar Le Mastroquet, 10 place du Colonel Bourgoin in the 12th, 01.43.44.23.57, open 7/7, serving moules dijonnaise, Toulouse sausage and white chocolate mousse. A busted heart went to a vegetarian fast food place annex of the Potager du Marais called Oh Bio, 58, Rue Rambuteau in the 3rd , 01.44.61.19.67, open 7/7, costing 15 E for a tofu-burger, quinoa, sweet potato tart, etc.
