For the longest time, our eldest grand-daughter has lobbied us to go to Spain, principally to see the Alhambra, which she and her close cousin-friend have studied. So this year seemed ideal.
Our lunch in Granada was at the lovely Real Asador de Castilla.
So we dove into the potato amuse bouche, fried fish, cheese, soup and chocolate and strawberry desserts.
Our bill was 113.18 E with a bottle of wine and water.

It being Holy Week there was no way to avoid the processions of penitants/etc.
Somehow the combination of the Ku Klux Klan outfits and the smoking and tattoo'd carriers underneath the tableaus was jarring.

Dinner was at the Fogon de Galicia on Navas, a street packed with tourist-friendly restos.
The girls loved the fried potatoes they'd been having so ordered some more, while Colette and I went for the cod amuse bouche, shrimp and salad.

Breakfast brought about the ever-present chocolate con churros or vice versa.

The Alhambra was just as peaceful and calming as it was when I was first bewitched by it in 1955; an added pleasure this time though was a special exhibitin of Escher's works, which are heavily influenced by the time he spent here. But onto lunch in the garden of the Hotel America - equally peaceful and lovely.
We had a ham omelette, rabbit with garlic sauce, mixed vegetables, gaspacho and of course strawberries
Our bill with wine & water, coffee and brandy was 108.50 E.

Out of the Alhambra and back to the city

To dinner (our last in Granada): we chose the Nuevo Restaurante Hermanos Urquiza where we had:
Salmon, fish soup, paella, gaspacho and house salads, plus
some strawberries and cream and rice pudding.
Our bill with wine and bottled water was 65.99 E.
