Le Pario in the 15th burst on the scene the end of October and I'm told by internautes has had quite a lot of press and with good reason. We went today with two writers who regularly visit here, one who deals with food and the other with French history, and both thought the write-ups about chef Eduardo Jacinto, ex of the Constant Empire, and his offerings were enticing.
We started with three different firsts: a veloute of potiron with chestnuts and white truffle oil, heart of romaine lettuce with smoked farm chicken Cesar fashion and the "menu" choice - raviolis of gambas in the rich crustacean sauce (yum). (Colette thought it was fabulous) At this point our invitees said they were most pleased by our decision to come.
Then the mains: grilled Challans quail with potatoes stuffed with bacon; chicken fricassee with morille sauce and veggies; gambas lightly gratinated with aged comte and and langoustine tails; and daurade a la plancha with a terrific crispy skin and basmati rice made paella style. No complaints heard anywhere.
The desserts (except for the cheese from Dubois) were also quite good; a lemon craquant with ginger and honey; a banana eclair with warm caramel and a sable of speculos and orange mousse.
Our bill with two bottles of a Cotes du Rhone, no bottled water, 3 coffees and an infusion, was 188.90, thus 94.45 E a couple. A definate go-back-to.
