6.6 Aux Plumes, 45, rue Boulard, you know, next to Hugo Desnoyer, 01.53.90.76.22, closed Sundays and Mondays (Metro: Mouton-Duvenet), is in the space formerly occupied by the Jeu de Quilles, a very decent restaurant run by a superb Chef Bruno Reix, wonder whatever happened to him? Oh well. Anyway, now its open kitchen is run by Chef Kazuhiro Fujieda, who picked up a few tricks at L'Arpege and Chamarré Montmartre. My co-diner and I looked at the menu and in our heads chose what first we each wanted - but no....
Out came a "trilogy", luike a bento, of:
Betterave ricotta gelée de pomme
Velouté de racine de persil émulsion chocolat
Focaccia aux tapenade concasser de tomate aux salicorne
All were quite delicious and I noticed my co-diner and I were having no trouble hearing each other despite the other diners - I took out my decibel meter - 54.4 dB - I looked up et voila! - ceiling baffles. So restaurateurs, you can baffle noise if you want.
One has a choice of mains between the poisson du jour, chicken or a faux-filet and my friend went with the merlan with corail lentils (like In Indian dal) and I had the chicken with thyme and lemon - plus a large put of vegetables. At this point we were satisfied but....
You know, the "menu" was 18 and the dessert an additional 7 E, go for it. And it was well worth it; a velvety chocolate mousse with fresh berries on top.
Our bill, with a bottle and a glass of wine and 2 coffees, no bottled water, was 79 E a couple. Wow!
Go? Absolutely, in fact, run.
