7.1 Plantxa, 58, rue Gallieni in Boulogne-Billancourt, 01.46.20.50.93 (Metro: Marcel Sembat), closed Sunday and Monday looked awfully familiar as I walked over and into it and I realized I'd been here only 2 years ago - "I must be developing dementia faster than I imagined," I thought but it was not Groundhog Day after all" - the Top Chef Juan Arbelaez has taken off to chef Nube in the Hotel Marignan in the 8th (where I'd eaten in April and been underwhelmed) and left his sous-chef one Maximilien Kuznar at the piano. So we'll see. The place was as before -wild walls paintings with sharpie messages, full of 30 year old having a great time and quite simple carte.
My dining buddy from the nabe started off with the poulpe on the pumpkin puree and a sweet berry confiture and I had their superb ceviche covered with vegetables.
Then as main courses she had the pork and I the duck, again both with superb vegetables.
We decided to split the dessert - what was called "Le Marron" but was a set of heavenly chestnut flavored balls of ambrosia.
Our bill with a bottle of South African Pinotage (they have wines from everywhere), no bottled water but good bread and good coffees, was 118 E.
Go? I know, no one who reads this will, but that's OK, the 30 year olds in B/B have it packed full. That's 89.9 dB full.
