7.2 Chez Delphine, 48 rue Saint Georges in the 9th, 01.42.81.35.94, closed Sundays and Mondays (Metro: St Georges) is around the corner from one of my best friends who is also an excellent new restaurant spotter. She quickly noted that as new as the place was, it was already on some Asian list, since half the clientele seemed such.
The carte posed problems for me, since, while usually my eyes quickly glom onto an entree and plat I must have, today I couldn’t decide.
Three of the starters called, encornets in an espilette sauce, ceviche with avocado and a carpaccio of fish. Madame decided to sit out so M. had the ceviche that I thought was better than my encornets which they loved better.
Then Madame had three crispy langoustines on top of langoustiny risotto and the guys hadn’t slightly spicy a confited shoulder of lamb atop a circle of eggplant - both dishes were out of the ordinary by a long shot.
To finish off, Madame had a delicious ile flottante and I a velvety a soupe of peaches with strawberries, raspberries, blue berries, etc.
Our bill, with 2 coffees, a bottled water and three glasses of Brouilly, was 147€ or 98€ a couple. Btw, the bread was great; the dB level not so much since some office girls were celebrating the end of summer I guess. (My dB meter was battery challenged).
Go? If I lived around the corner, this would be my “cook’s night off” place.
