Le Vent d’Armor in the 5th has been characterized as Divellec-quality fish without the crazy prices or silly humor. And indeed it is very lovely fish indeed.
They started us off with an amuse bouche of some small mussels in a butter sauce and then our friends, having chosen to go with the 30€ 2-course “menu”, had the tartare of salmon that I thought was terrifically delicious.
Then they had the rascasse with vegetables and a purée, Colette had the bar with the same and I chose the sole with some of the same but added asparagus and what looked like catsup but was solid tomato sauce. All were simply lovely.
Our bill, with one bottle of the same Venerables Chablis as last visit, was 187€ or 93.50€ a couple.
Go? The only downside is that’s it’s totally Yankeeized, the word is out.
