7.8 Cuisine, 50 rue Condorcet in the 9th, 01.44.63.75.64, (Metro: Anvers) closed weekends and Monday lunch, is another one of these largely unheralded neighborhood bistros opening up recently, that are full up with young folks by 12:40 - serving up delicious simple food at great prices, in this case, 22€ for 3 courses. I went with the colleague I plan symposia with, having just tied up our submission, and it couldn’t have been a better celebration.
We both chose grilled octopus mixed with leeks in a just right spicy vinaigrette with excellent bread. Then while he had a nice coarsely chopped tuna tartare with fries, I had confited lamb with crispy skin (much like well prepared pork belly) and greens. We ended up both having superb chocolate cake.
Our bill, with a bottle and glass of wine and two coffees, was 82.50€. Db’s were not worth measuring despite the crowd. Handicapped accessible.
Go? Oh boy!
