8.1 Solstice, 45 rue Claude Bernard, corner rue Bertollet, in the 5th, (Metro: Censier-Bernard), closed Sundays and Mondays, 06.51.31.83.84 has a “Discovery” menus of 65 and 95€ at night but 3 course “Passage” ones at lunch at 35€. The interior is very Zen, white walls both finished and raw stone and Korean screens reflecting the sensibilities of the chef’s wife Mi-Jin Ryu. The chef himself, Eric Trochon is well-known from his service at Freddy's & Semilla.
We started off with lovely amuses of cheese puffs and tuna tartare on an edible leaf with melon granité. We then both had mains of encornet chunks perfectly cooked, with white polenta, basil pesto and strips of fennel and zucchini. However, we ordered different superb desserts - mirabelles with grilled rice ice and white miso caramel and nectarines slices with prune granité, peach sorbet and basil.
Our bill, with a bottle of Savoie red and Chateldon and two coffees, was 125€. Db’s unmeasureable. Accessible.
Go back? Absolutely, now that I’ve figured out the bus connections.
