Le 7eme VIN in the 7th is a place three of us literally fell into a month or so ago and I thought had such decent “traditional” food I should return with Colette and a wine expert. And it didn’t disappoint. Not surprisingly the place looked the same, the menu and carte were much the same and the place was just as packed, turning folks away again.
Colette started with an “autumn soup” whose ingredients we could not identify, our friend had the girolles and cocos, and I had the Basque dish my friend had a month ago with a poached egg, tomatoes and peppers, topped with huge, long strips of bacon-y chorizo.
Then our friend had a very big chicken breast with mushrooms while we had the sautéed lobes of foie gras with figs and peaches and nectarines.
We finished up with a pain perdu, fig tart and chocolate caramel pastry.
Our bill with three coffees and the equivalent of 1.5 bottles of wine, was 164€ or 108.66€ a couple for a fine Fall feast.
