5.7 Le P'tit Canon, 36, rue Legedre in the 17th. 01.47.63.63.87, (Metro: Rome), closed Saturday lunch and Sundays, has been touted in several websites recently, enough to get my attention. So what have I got to lose? I enter and am warmly greeted; soon, many, many locals pour in everybody is having a good time.
My codiner, fresh from a Thanksgiving weekend when she served 5, count them 5, turkeys at a 45 person blow-out extravaganza in Provence, sagely orders a Caesar salad with bacon but without an egg plus some frites; but I, remembering Deb's famous version, order their homemade cassoulet, which came with the requisite different flavored hammy-porky items and fine white beans, lacked a certain Southwestern touch; but we then, nevertheless shared a tarte tatin with great ice cream (I loved it, she though store-bought ice was tacky.)
Our bill, with a bottle of Bordeaux and one of Badoit with no coffees (they never asked, that makes two days in a row), came to 71.50E. dB's = a whopping 86.5.
Go? Ah there you've got me. If staying in the incredibly blossoming 17th - think the 11th 10 years ago or the 10th 15 years ago or the 9th 1 year ago, yes indeed. Traditional mais oui!
