Le Train Bleu in the 12th: "Perfect, John, Perfect" he said.

Le Train Bleu in the 12th, has become a holiday treat for us since it reopened under the control of Rostang & Co. and when we were eating at Coretta a few days ago, Matthieu Marcant, Beatriz Gonzalez' husband asked us where we'd be celebrating the New Year and we said "Le Train Bleu."  "Perfect" he said, "No one will be there."  Well, that was pretty much true.

We had what we always do - the "Menu Voyageur" at 49E with their superb leg of lamb, as rare as our friend from Berkeley and I like and as medium as Colette does with superb potatoes dauphinoise, closing out with lemon tarts.

With a bottle and two glasses of wine and wo coffees, our bill was 228E or 152E a couple.  "Perfect."
